For working professionals, the employer is the most successful and accessible route to full reimbursement. Government Employment Services
If you are currently receiving state support (such as unemployment, illness, or disability benefits) and stuttering hinders you from finding or keeping a job, government employment services can often fund the stuttering therapy as part of your vocational reintegration or return-to-work program. Discuss this directly with your caseworker.
Local Authorities | Personal Budgets & Youth Support
For children and young people under 18, local authorities sometimes cover the costs of stuttering therapy when it can be demonstrated that stuttering severely hinders the child’s social and emotional development (for instance, due to bullying or school drop-out). This process usually runs through local social services or a personal healthcare budget.

You do not need a referral letter to enroll at our institute; you can start your training immediately. However, if you wish to request a reimbursement from your health insurance provider, employer, or government employment agency, a supporting letter from a general practitioner, neurologist, or occupational health physician can significantly speed up the process. This serves as medical proof that regular therapies have not helped and that a physiological approach is necessary.
Don’t give up too quickly. Health insurers often send a standard rejection because the Del Ferro Method falls outside their standard speech therapy lists. You can appeal this decision (request a reconsideration). We can provide you with the right scientific documentation and medical endorsements (such as Dr. Van Hemert’s X-ray research) to strengthen your appeal. Often, a discretionary reimbursement is then granted after all.
This is very straightforward and works the fastest: immediately after booking, you will receive a clear, fully itemized digital invoice (including a purchase order number or a specific employer reference upon request). You can then email this PDF directly to your HR department, manager, or vocational reintegration caseworker. They will settle the invoice directly or through your internal expense system.
We want our stuttering therapy to be accessible to everyone. If you do not qualify for a reimbursement and paying the tuition upfront presents a significant financial burden, it is possible, by mutual agreement and under certain conditions, to set up a customized payment plan.
