On the first day, in a relaxed atmosphere, your child gets to know peers and the trainers. From the very first moment, your son or daughter learns how stuttering becomes physically impossible with the Del Ferro speaking technique. On this very first day, your child already experiences what it is like to speak 100% fluently. That immediately brings peace of mind and a big smile.
On day two, your child deepens the speaking technique. They learn how great it is to talk without sneaky tricks, such as delaying or avoiding difficult words. Together, we playfully apply the method in various everyday situations, allowing your child to build increasing skill and calm. With fun exercises, we reinforce focus and enjoyment while speaking.
On day three, your child learns how to apply the speaking technique more subtly and naturally, without others noticing. We also work on inner feelings. We help your child let go of uncertainty and the fear of stuttering. This way, your son or daughter learns that speaking can be fun again, and confidence grows by the day.
On day four, your child applies the Del Ferro method in relatable situations. Think of reading aloud to the group, practicing a presentation, or talking in a busy environment. On the final day, we celebrate the great results! In a relaxed atmosphere, your child shows what they can do, such as telling a story with total confidence. During two phase-down sessions, your child learns the crucial final part of our method: gradually phasing down the speech technique. During the aftercare program, there is weekly contact with the stuttering specialist as well as bi-weekly drop-in aftercare to ensure progress at school and at home. While traditional speech therapy often focuses on a lengthy search for underlying causes or learning to accept stuttering, Del Ferro consciously chooses a different path. Without discounting the value of speech therapy, we notice that digging deep into the ‘why’ can actually make a child highly insecure. In some cases, the stuttering even worsens because the focus remains constantly on the limitation.
At Del Ferro, we skip the theoretical exploration and focus directly on the physical solution. We view stuttering as a physical blockage that can be resolved at the source by training the diaphragm muscle. Our training for children is purely practical, positive, and results-oriented. Your child learns to regain control over their speech in an easy-to-understand way and experiences from day one that fluent speech is indeed possible. This gives their self-confidence an immediate, massive boost.
The costs of stuttering therapy for children are partially reimbursed by various health insurers. In addition, there are often possibilities through other agencies. To ensure that every child receives the attention they need, we work in small, familiar groups. The atmosphere is safe and stimulating. As a parent or guardian, you are welcome to attend.
Training hours are Monday to Thursday from 10:00 to 16:00 and on Friday from 09:00 to 13:00.
Certainly! After the course, we use a personal update system. As parents, you send a weekly update on your child’s progress. The teacher provides feedback and answers all your questions until fluent speech has become second nature.

Yes, in addition to group training, we also offer the therapy privately (at a location of your choice or at our office in Amsterdam) and online via live video sessions. This allows us to fully tailor the training to your child’s needs.
No, this intensive 5-day training focuses specifically on school-aged children from the age of 6. The training days and mental guidance require a longer attention span.
